La Gitana Mine
Located in the municipality of Sardinata, Norte de Santander, it is the underground mining operation with the highest capacity, technology and safety in the department.
The mine is exploited through a system of chambers and pillars, which uses state-of-the-art equipment, making the operation completely mechanized.
A dry cleaning plant is used to remove excess ash and bring it to the levels required by our customers. The plant has a capacity of 30,000 metric tons of Run of Mine (“ROM”) per month.
Plant with a capacity of 80 tons/hour of ROM coal, with a recovery of 55%.
Three product streams are obtained that include clean, intermediate and sterile carbon.
